Flying Butterflies, a Friend in Wales, and the Magic of AI." 🦋❤️

Do you have time for a little story? I spent the afternoon on the website front page shared project. Chatgpt is an excellent research helper and website reviewer. The suggestions were extremely helpful. Years ago...maybe 20....I started my family genealogy shared site called Tribal Pages. I had no idea how to upload my family stories and videos. A fellow Tribal Pages user was sort of the informal help desk. His name was Les Paramentor (sp?). He lived in Wales. I would email my question to him and he would tell me how to do everything. He was amazing. His family website was years ahead with music and flying butterflies!! He passed away a few years ago but his site is still active with links and "how to" information. For some reason as I was walking today, I thought of Les. Twenty years ago, Les was my ChatGPT!

Except Les was a real person, sitting somewhere in Wales, generously sharing his knowledge with a woman across the Atlantic who was determined to bring her family history to life. I waited eagerly for his emails. He patiently explained things. And together, we made technology do things I never imagined possible. Now I just push a few buttons and there is MAGIC. I wonder if Les is up there in Heaven smiling!!!

Technology changes, but the generosity of people sharing what they know never goes out of style.

Les helped me. Now ...I'm helping others. That's a legacy, too. Can you share your knowledge and stories?
